The Mountain View camera at Jackson Hole Mountain Resort gives you a broad look at the mid-mountain terrain, showing multiple runs and lift lines at once. It is the best single camera for getting a quick read on overall mountain conditions and crowd levels.
On a busy holiday weekend I check this camera before I leave the house. If the runs look tracked out and the lifts look packed, I might wait until the afternoon when the crowds thin. After a fresh snowstorm this camera shows you the untracked lines still waiting on the mountain. The snow quality, the visibility, and the skier density are all visible in one frame.
Local tip: The best powder skiing at JHMR happens in the first two hours after the lifts open. If this camera shows fresh snow and clear skies at 8 AM, be in line at 8:45.
