The webcams I check first
Togwotee Pass
If you are heading from Jackson toward Buffalo Valley, Dubois, or anywhere northeast of town, this is the camera that matters. Togwotee Pass sits at 9,658 feet, and conditions can change fast. It can be calm and clear in Jackson while the pass is socked in and snowing hard. In winter, I check this one before I go anywhere in that direction.
Town Square Broadway
This is the camera I have been running the longest. It looks straight down Broadway toward the antler arches in the center of town. You can see weather moving in, traffic flow, events on the square, and what things actually look like in Jackson at that moment. Locals use it. Visitors use it. It has consistently been one of the most watched webcams on the site.
JHMR Tram Cam
If you are planning a ski day, this gives you a more honest read than almost anything else. You can see real visibility, real snow coverage, and what the top of the mountain is doing right now. The summit sits at 10,450 feet. When conditions are changing fast, this camera tells the story.
Corbet’s Couloir
This one is not always live, but when it is, it is worth watching. Corbet’s is one of the most famous expert ski runs in North America, and for good reason. The entrance is steep, exposed, and unforgiving. It is a serious line, and it can be entertaining to watch even if you never plan to ski it yourself.
Grand Teton Range
If you want the classic Jackson Hole view, this is it. Wide-open Tetons, dramatic light, shifting weather, and one of the best vantage points in the valley. Sunrise and sunset can be especially good here. For pure scenery, this is one of my favorites.
Why I built this
Back in 2001, almost nobody was doing live webcams in Jackson Hole the way we envisioned them. I put one online because I wanted people to be able to see the place before they arrived. It was simple, practical, and immediate. People responded right away.
Within a year, it had become the most visited page on the site.
Twenty-five years later, the technology is better, the network is bigger, and the image quality is dramatically improved, but the core idea is exactly the same. A live webcam answers questions that no travel article ever fully can. Is it snowing? Is the pass clear? Is the mountain visible? Is town busy? Is it worth the drive today?
