Snow King Mountain is the town hill, it rises 1,571 vertical feet right out of the valley floor, four blocks from Town Square. This camera at the base chairs gives you a look at the conditions at the bottom of the mountain and the activity level on the lower runs.
Snow King is where Jackson locals learned to ski. It is steep, it is close, and on a weekday it is practically empty. I check this camera when I want a quick afternoon ski without driving to JHMR or Targhee. The base chairs access the lower mountain terrain, and this feed tells you if the snow is holding up and whether the lifts are running. In the summer Snow King runs the mountain coaster, the alpine slide, and the aerial adventure park, and this camera shows you the activity level before you drive over.
Local tip: Snow King has night skiing on Fridays and Saturdays. If this camera shows the lights on after dark, the mountain is open. It is one of the few places in the country where you can ski at night with a view of a lit-up western town below you.
